As good a description of Liz Truss as I’ve seen.
@JohnOBrennan2 True, she wanted everything yesterday. But there should never had been a contest anyway However was sitting in No10 in Oct 22 was getting the LDI crisis blame. She rightly points the actual blame at Bailey fmr head of Prudential management at BoE and promoted + capabilities
@JohnOBrennan2 “I am not always good at translating this internal dialogue into something for wider public communication. I assumed people understood what I was trying to do more than they did.” (Liz Truss’ book, quoted in the Daily Mail)
@JohnOBrennan2 This but the beach is covered in sewage, she knew that before stepping off, but everyone was looking at her and she liked the attention.
@JohnOBrennan2 Is being a political spasm better than being out lived by a lettuce?
@JohnOBrennan2 @VintiquesMark #LizTruss "a political spasm". Yep!
@JohnOBrennan2 Exactly! Leadership: 'Leadership is the ability to understand people's motivations and leverage them to achieve a shared goal.' IMO She found herself unable to 'take people with her' and is now blaming them for it.
@JohnOBrennan2 Excellently put 👍. This is the whole thing with her argument- she might believe it was the correct way and who knows, maybe in other circumstances it may have worked. No idea. But letting ideas overrule reality makes you totally unsuited to leadership
@JohnOBrennan2 Always a voyeur Prof Would you not think of standing ? Your colleague Rory seems to be jumping from party to party Of course you have to wonder why he wouldn't stand as a TD before an MEP and a failed candidate before in 2019 One trick pony with housing
