Gov. Walz warned Senate Republicans they’ll face a political backlash in 2026 if they vote against the two gun bills. This came after a reporter asked whether all 34 Democrats can risk voting for those bills.
@JohnCroman He threatened me too. We followed the data related to new gun bills. They didn’t do anything but penalize law abiding citizens, so we said no. Apparently there may be a couple Dems who agree with us.
Tell us, specifically, how the background check bill will guarantee compliance by the Davion Lazarick Gaines's of Minnesota. Then tell us, specifically, how the background check bill will stop prosecutors and judges from endangering Minnesotans. We'll wait right here.
@JohnCroman Red flag laws are not political, people that need to be kept away from guns are on both sides of the aisle.
@JohnCroman Why shouldn’t Republicans face a backlash? Why don’t they care about the lives lost to gun violence?
@JohnCroman @grant_hauschild will never carry the range if he votes on unneeded gun legislation. The Minnesota sheriffs have spoken!
@JohnCroman Yes, you do want to confiscate guns. 1/8 of eligible adults have carry permits. If they all start voting in their interests, the backlash is coming, all right. For the DFL, in '24.
