OK, so this is making the rounds and I'll offer my experience: No, you won't be sat at ringside. No, you won't interview all the talent, if any. No, you won't go backstage unless it's to be escorted to a post-show presser. 1/2
Yes, we get in for free and are either sat lower bowl near hard cam or in a press box in the 800s Yes, we work incredibly hard for this Yes, we're tired at the show's end because we're taking notes and reporting on the event, not screaming as fans and posting reaction TikToks.
@JoelPearl I love wrestling but I'd much rather be watching from home, not spending money on the outside costs, and hanging with my family
@JoelPearl I can’t believe people really think media would go to a show and not work their asses off making content. They really think media just gets free tickets for what?? So a promotion can gain their favor?? I’m perplexed.
@JoelPearl I shot over 3,500 photos at Revolution, attended post media, arrived to my hotel after 2am, checked out around 8:30 and was editing photos on the ride back to Florida, attended my afternoon photography class and developed a roll of film. It’s work!
@JoelPearl The best seats and experiences to any show have been the ones I paid for. When I worked for music magazines, I got to venues hours before everyone and left hours after everyone. It’s hard work. The “free” tickets are in exchange for the work you do
@JoelPearl She should try wrestling photography , it’s MUCH HARDER!! You still have to grind and work had and not come off as a crazy fan
