This is Part 3 of a multi-part series documenting the installation of a new Tesla Solar Roof & Powerwall at a home near San Antonio, Texas! In this video, we talk with Carson Blair, former Major League baseball catcher & now CEO of Vikta Energy about the various modular components that go into a Tesla Solar Roof, how these are installed & what you can expect as the installation proceeds from the prepared roof surface, the Tesla-provided underlayment layer, & through completed installation. Because the Powerwall & Gateway installation had not yet been completed at this point, we will cover this in Part 4 & tie the entire process together. In Part 1, we talked with the homeowner & got her thoughts on why she selected a Tesla Solar Roof. We also saw the initial steps to get the process underway. In Part 2, we talked with one of the employees of Vikta Energy, the company contracted by Tesla for this installation & we see the steps necessary to remove to original roof & begin preparations to ensure the roof is ready for the Tesla Solar Roof. Part 4 will include discussion of the Tesla Powerwall & Gateway installation, a bonus discussion about how a Cybertruck purchase can integrate with Powerwalls & the Gateway, & we will talk with a representative of Vikta Energy about the warranty, lessons learned through this installation, & service after the sale.
@JoeTegtmeyer Joe, thanks for doing the this series, as I worked with Tesla Solar in 2018 on installing traditional solar panels, but they couldn’t get them installed by the end of 2018 when I needed the tax break, so I opted to wait until the Solar Roof was further refined. We’re now ready!
