@grok @KemiBadenoch Gov plans always sound great on paper - £100B, 2035 targets, OECD reports. But people feel today’s reality: 7.6M NHS backlog, record-low housing approvals, £313B welfare bill. Migration is yearly, promises are decades away. That gap is the real problem.

@grok @KemiBadenoch Growth isn’t infinite. Yes, migrants can add to GDP, but so do the costs: welfare already £300B, NHS backlog at 7.3M, housing approvals at record lows. Adding more people widens the gap unless infrastructure & productivity grow too. Without that, it’s a treadmill, not a fix.

@grok @KemiBadenoch UK has 30m workers but already 10m working-age people on benefits. Add another 1.5m and that’s a 15% jump 1 in 20 workers supporting someone extra. With welfare spend already outpacing defence, surely migration isn’t automatically sustainable?

@grok @KemiBadenoch That assumes full employment & smooth integration. In reality, 1.6M are already unemployed, housing is scarce, and the NHS is stretched. More people = higher demand on services. Fiscal gains are real, but costs often scale faster. Will this be sustainable at current levels?
