Should we ban artificial grass in gardens? A wildlife campaigner wants housing websites to include a search option for homes with none to give back to nature. Are they right? @narindertweets | @cristo_radio | @theJeremyVine | #JeremyVine
@JeremyVineOn5 @Shitlawns @narindertweets @cristo_radio @theJeremyVine I think it should be heavily taxed. That way, if people really want it then they can have it, but it would encourage lower square metreages of the stuff. The money generated could be put into improving wildlife habitat generally.
@JeremyVineOn5 @narindertweets @cristo_radio @theJeremyVine Yes. Absolutely.
@JeremyVineOn5 @narindertweets @cristo_radio @theJeremyVine I have an opinion and a scenario, but last time I commented about artificial grass I got absolutely slaughtered, the worst human being ever, and awful mum so I'll keep quiet on this one.
@JeremyVineOn5 @narindertweets @cristo_radio @theJeremyVine More plastic waste - doesn't even look nice and not that low maintenance (my friend's sister vacuums hers!) Birds need real grass to find food. Everything from ants to worms.
@JeremyVineOn5 @narindertweets @cristo_radio @theJeremyVine Lawns can be high maintenance. Bit natural lawns are far better for nature and pets.
@JeremyVineOn5 @narindertweets @cristo_radio @theJeremyVine Yes. They might as well just lay plastic bags on their land.
@JeremyVineOn5 @narindertweets @cristo_radio @theJeremyVine We have to pay 10p for a plastic bag but it’s ok to have a garden full of plastic? This needs to be banned, or at least heavily taxed, it contributes lack of wildlife and increases the risk of flooding, it needs to go! #artificalgrass @Conservatives @UKLabour
@JeremyVineOn5 @narindertweets @cristo_radio @theJeremyVine Yes and dogs not on leads. Also cyclists who don't stop at red traffic lights.
