This reminds me of a quote from @JoeEhrmann76 from one of my favorite books, Season of Life by @JeffreyMarx25 Extremely important message. Our rising seniors w/ @StewieFootball read this book each year & it’s been a big part of building our players/culture! #BuildingMenForOthers
It’s a coach’s responsibility to serve players, not a player’s responsibility to serve coaches. That is the principle priority of any coach’s job: SERVE YOUR PLAYERS. Leadership always carries the higher standard and heavier responsibility.
Two things we teach our players. 1) To say I love you 2) To give a teammate a hug When men say “I appreciate you” that’s man code for “I love you.” Just say it. Love = who are you will to die for. Die to self, love for the team and others.

My introduction to @MedillSchool came at age 17, in a summer program for high schoolers. Medill and @NorthwesternU students and faculty shaped me in endless ways. This honor is beyond anything I could’ve imagined. So grateful.
