Carla is continuing her progress, and she is attempting to get better and trying her best to get up and stand, but she is still bedridden and not there yet. Carla has been getting occupational and physical therapy and making improvements. The wound doctor said her bed sore is deep but it’s getting better. He said it can take months to heal. But as Carla can start moving around more, this will make it easier to heal. The lung doctor came by; he said that the breathing was good and that she has a good heartbeat. This morning, they did a swallow test with Carla eating ice chips and vanilla pudding. The doctor said they are now waiting for the test results to make sure everything she swallowed, no particles went into the lungs. Carla is constantly more awake and talking, but we are trying to read her lips, and it’s tough. We want to answer all of her questions. We also need prayers for the successful removal of the tracheotomy and feeding tube, and there is blood in the urine, and for her deep bed sore wound to heal. Physical and Occupational therapy have been working her well with several exercises, and she is now sitting up in a jerry chair multiple times a day. Carla is now also able to eat real food every day, as they are weaning her off the feeding tube. The other big news is that they will now begin the process of taking off the tracheotomy, where they will start the process of placing a cap on the tracheotomy over time. My wife is making progress, she is still bedridden with a tracheotomy tube and a feeding tube. She is still not able to help herself. But, she is making great progress, she is now more awake during the day, has been taking, but hard to hear because of the tracheotomy tube. She is on track for the next step before they can remove the tracheotomy tube, which is awesome. She is also doing better with occupational and physical therapy. Great news is that there were no brain damage, and we are looking forward to a full recovery and bringing her home. Thank you so much.

My wife Carla collapsed and became unresponsive over a week ago. She was struggling to breathe, and her lips began turning blue. The local hospital ambulance arrived on time to stabilize her. At the hospital, I learned that a cluster of arteries blasted blood into the back of her brain, the cerebellum area, where the brain fluid is. Carla needed to be moved to a hospital farther away. Currently, she is in the ICU, unresponsive, with a breathing and feeding tube via the throat. While the cluster is not bleeding, the remaining blood has clotted, preventing her brain fluid from flowing normally. They started a brain-fluid drainage process that also drains the remaining blood from the back of the head. The remaining blood clot will take a while to dissolve and drain completely, as there is a large amount of blood left over. She is not eligible for an operation to remove the blood clot because it’s too dangerous. The clot is currently creating pressure and affecting her consciousness and motor skills. The doctor says he does not know when Carla will wake up. They are planning to do a tracheotomy to place a breathing tube below her vocal cords and place a feeding tube in her stomach until she wakes up and recovers. She has been in the hospital for over a week and is still unresponsive. We do not have insurance, and I have been struggling to get a job programming, because of this, my income is in the red. We cannot pay for all the procedures and operations. I hope this describes the situation for my wife.
