@EchoesofWarYT 3 reasons. 1. It's hard to write a poem since few words rhyme with Jewett, like hear and Revere. 2. No great slogan available like 1 if by land, 2 if by sea. 3. Even back then, if it happened in the north it was news and if it happened in the south it never happened.

@SVG__Collection Hendrix was playing the same thing in clubs in New York and going nowhere. He gets a break, flies to London, plugs in his Strat the first night and is worshiped by the top musicians and everybody else. He went to the right place at the right time. I think it's called kismet.

@Pleease @JVMonte2 I like all of the AB songs, plus Greg's solo work, but my favorite song with his voice goes back to when he, Duane and Butch trucks were doing test tapes as 31st of February. The song is "God Rest His Soul." Greg wrote it in honor of MLK, without his usual gravel voice.

@Pleease @JVMonte2 The Allman Brothers lost so many great musicians and kept going, but I don't think they could have gone on if at any point they had lost Greg Allman. Dickie Betts might have taken them in a different direction, but I'm not sure that would have worked out.

@JVMonte2 Allman brothers, after Duane Allman passed away. Almond brothers , after Barry Oakley passed away. Allman Brothers after Chuck Lavelle left. Allman brothers after Dickie Betts left. It was still the allman Brothers as long as Gregg, Butch and Jamo were there.

altavista.com, for two reasons. First, it was the best search engine until Google came along. Second, typing altavista.com did not take you directly to the search engine because Digital Equipment did not register that domain name and someone else did, so you went to altavista.com first, then clicked on the link to actually take you to the search engine. It wasn't the only major mistake Digital Equipment made during that time.
