Dan Wetzel makes the case against expansion. And, isn’t it amazing how player compensation hasn’t diminished interest (which is at record levels)? So much for the NCAA’s doomsday and “existential threat” predictions. sports.yahoo.com/march-madness-…
@JayBilas I'd counter that gambling becoming legal in more states has raised interest. The easier it becomes to gamble, the more people are "tuned in" and taking an interest. Also, every game is shown now, with more ways to watch, making it easier to watch at work or on the go.
@JayBilas It's early on the interest front. The impact of seeing team loyalty nosedive toward zero is just beginning to be felt. Maybe it will prove to be a generational thing with us oldies saying let's find something where school ties still count. But maybe it's more than that.
@JayBilas The transfer portal is a much bigger issue than player compensation
@JayBilas The SEC and B10 have ruined CFB don’t let them ruin college basketball too- they just want to eliminate even one dollar or opportunity for any school outside of the Cartel they created
@JayBilas There is no pay to play yet… technically. Most don’t have a problem with nil. However, if you turn college sports into mini nba and nfl… people will stop watching….. eventually. #savecollegeathletics
@JayBilas You’ve become as bad for college basketball as hmmm your boss is for college athletics as whole. Coincidence, I think not. You hate mid majors and now you want to get rid of college basketball in place for semi pro nba JR.
@JayBilas Only doomsday was for the NCAA management's racket being disrupted
