The Tories have been pretty useless at running/reforming the NHS. But under them we now spend 11.3% of our GDP on health. Highest ever. No Labour government has ever spent as much. Not very Trumpian.

@afneil Disingenuous use of stats. Conservatives have made wholesale cutbacks and have underfunded the NHS for over a decade. The lack of real terms rises show the lack of finance and we have a huge gap in funding now. % of GDP is due to austerity and economic suicide of that project.
@Jason_R_McKenna @afneil We spend more on our health care than any other country bar America the problem isn't the funding but where it's spent like not enough doctors or nurses compared to other jobs in the NHS
@Jason_R_McKenna @afneil The NHS, schools, fire stations court houses etc are still paying interest on the PFI contracts signed by Labour's Blair & Brown.
@Jason_R_McKenna @afneil Money has been continually diverted from capital spending for investment (to improve efficiency) to fire fighting immediate day to day problems. Most major improvements to improve efficiency inevitably involve extra costs up front in the short to medium term.
@Jason_R_McKenna @afneil Real terms rises.
@Jason_R_McKenna @afneil Rubbish is badly run by activists who are under control of the unions. Even labour understands this and knows it’s an impossible task.
@Jason_R_McKenna @afneil It needs ending, not more money. Look to the French model for much better outcomes. No country has ever copied the NHS model.
@Jason_R_McKenna @afneil How much does it need to no longer be underfunded? None of you can ever answer that It needs to be more efficient, it wastes billions of ££’s every single year
