NIL LAWSUIT: Bears rookie DT Gervon Dexter Sr. sued Big League Advance Fund for violation of Florida's NIL and agency statutes. Dexter signed an NIL deal with BLA in 2022. Alleged terms: $436,485 to Dexter ↔️ NIL services and 15% of his pre-tax NFL earnings for 25 years to BLA.
Per the complaint, the deal provided for an initial term covering the time period in which Dexter had NCAA eligibility, and an "extended term," which began immediately after Dexter was no longer eligible under NCAA rules until 25 years after the date the contract was executed.
@Jason_Morrin @ConDetrimental What an absolute predatory contract.
@Jason_Morrin @ConDetrimental can you post the full lawsuit?
@Jason_Morrin @ConDetrimental This is why a governing body is import. Government protects people from other people.
@Jason_Morrin @ConDetrimental I see he wasn’t playing school. Negotiating contracts with someone that has a 3rd grade reading level will always end up bad.
@Jason_Morrin @NicholasMoreano @ConDetrimental This is crazy. Big League Advance Fund should be exempt from doing any further business with NCAA athletes after this
@Jason_Morrin @ConDetrimental Tough. If he signed the contract it’s hard to believe he’ll get out of this one.
