@Spainkiller @AntifaCostanza The silly optional minigame that you don't ever need to actually interact with unless you want some swimsuits nearly ruined the game for you?

@ctuallyloved @Def_Not_Deuce That's what I mean. The stuff that achieved him all timer status was stuff he made using all the traumatic shit he was dealing with. As he slowly grew past each trauma, he started losing things to pull from, and eventually just started making music he enjoys. Which is fine tbh

@ctuallyloved @Def_Not_Deuce I mean, it's the fact that he did grow that makes him not palatable for a lot of people unfamiliar with his bigger work. He started by making music fueled by his trauma, then as he slowly healed he moved on to just making music he enjoys, be it inspirational, silly or personal

@SajadFadh @CrabSully94 @jetinarround @Imperatrixsocia I mean, sure, you can see the logic. But the game doesn't actually put any effort into progressing their relationship after the attempt on Lae'zel's life aside from some throwaway lines, even though they're arguably the two most relevant party members

@empyrealviolet Idk man, would you REALLY enjoy having to fight Draconic Tree Sentinel after every time Maliketh kicks your ass? The closest we got to this is Genichiro/Emma before Isshin, but in reality they're just a glorified phase 1 and little more than an annoying formality on retries

@CrabSully94 @jetinarround @Imperatrixsocia Lmao I only just realized how the Shadowheart vs Laezel thing kinda just fizzles out after that one scene in Act 1. They hate each other, they try to kill each other, Laezel feels kinda bad for her in Act 2, then the whole thing gets solved offscreen lol

@IdiotResid10154 @Invinium Why do we keep retroactively blaming the cool and good games for lesser creators putting out lesser creations inspired by the good thing?

@Aesthetician29 @llarissel Sometimes I wonder either just how sensible or how much of an asshole a person is to find SHADOWHEART to be too much for them

@bananaman360123 @Heeeeywhy1 @Visuljkoo I get the argument but I feel like ER is also this but on steroids. The amount of sequence breaking you can do just by knowing the map is practically the same as what you can do with the master key, but on an exponentially bigger scale

@ORIGINALOGLOC @Oceaniz96 If you mean about this guy in particular, no not at hand unfortunately. But if you type northernlion on yt or tiktok you'll probably get some of the popular ones

@Material_Blade @TheOtherFrost Has anyone ever managed to explain why that's the case? Like what's the psychology behind your best attempt usually being the first

@da_XReil @Oceaniz96 It's a far more nuanced topic than it seems cuz a good plot is important, but it's also not the be all end all for a visual medium The Godfather 2 for example has so many questionable things, big and small, yet its still one of the greatest movies ever for many despite that

@SLAVEKNIGHTX It genuinely takes more brain power to dodge just one of Orphan's phase 2 attacks than it does to fight the "Witches of Hemwick"

@john_vigilante2 It's not really about DeS tbf, it's more so about how people (OP in this case) love to look down on the franchise cuz it doesnt stick to DS1 design practices, as if the games after betray an unwritten canon, when in reality DS1 ignores A LOT of its predecessor's philosophies too

@Invinium @john_vigilante2 DS1 elitists try REALLY hard to act like Demon's Souls doesn't exist so that they can keep pretending that every following game that doesn't adhere to the design of the first 40% of DS1 is going against FromSoft's core philosophies
