My understanding is that the deal hasn't 'collapsed' yet but has hit a stumbling block with Said El Mala's representatives (his family) wanting his brother Malek as part of the deal. Said is reportedly open to the move.

Sky Sports report that Said El Mala is in fact open to the Brentford move - the issue is that his family want his brother, Malek, to be included in the deal. There's uncertainty around Malek qualifying for work permit. El Mala family represent the brothers, who play for Koln.
