I have OCD and have known that for a long time, but only today did I learn that ‘striving to think something through in order to reach an answer and relieve distress’ is a compulsion. I spend so much time doing this and it’s exhausting, yet never once thought to treat it as OCD.

@ItsEmilyKaty Yes! I’m in the exact same boat. Finding it a bit easier to manage now I can recognise it as OCD
@ItsEmilyKaty I recognise this as part of my #ASD but since I have experienced it my whole life and therefore it feels oddly normal despite any anxiety it may cause
@ItsEmilyKaty I was officially diagnosed with OCD because of this, “intrusive thinking”. I had no idea!
