I think a big part of the reason that people freak out so much about getting kidnapped in broad daylight because they saw a zip tie is that if you live in suburb the only ways you can possibly die are car crash and COVID, both of which we've been Moreover, ICE must be destroyed
trained to completely ignore. However our entire social and media system relies on everyone being terrified all the time so this is what people project that fear into Moreover, ICE must be destroyed
@Itmechr3 My mom would watch SVU a lot when I was growing up and it massively increased her paranoia about getting trafficked. That, in turn, amplified her racism. One time my sister went to visit the hispanic family at the base of our hill. Was gone maybe 4 or 5 hours? (1/2)
@Itmechr3 Do you use an extension or are you just a professional hater who remembers to type/paste it every time?
@Itmechr3 This is the same as why people are often terrified of flying, sharks, and "drug-laced Halloween candy" but rarely of driving, cows, and Tylenol. A combination of novelty, exoticism, and lack of daily practice at ignoring risks and fear response in order to function "normally."
@Itmechr3 Absolutely bonkers to see the fringe paranoia I grew up with hit the mainstream
@Itmechr3 Abuse, drugs, accidents are all a daily part of the suburban experience. What are you talking about? Zip ties are an anomaly and folks are becoming aware of the meaning so why knock it?
