Had my first alcohol of the year yesterday. Two glasses of champagne, two of red wine. It was quite nice though it would have been just as good without it. I still like pubs, just not massively fond of alcohol these days. They should sell kombucha in boozers.
@IrvineWelsh Lovely to hear Irv that the early months of the year tradition of abstinence from the demon bevvy is still a thing, hats off to you😇😇Brings back fond memories of the CEC days, when you inspired colleagues to also sign up to a temporary pledge. Then, the Oyster Bar beckoned🤣🤣
@IrvineWelsh I’m a wine consultant and in my humble opinion the Royal Flush buy these guys is the best I’ve tasted realdrinks.co
@IrvineWelsh It's strange, isn't it, how after six or more months your brain/body kind of says 'Why are we doing this again?' like it has already moved on from booze and doesn't understand why it has to process this toxin again.
@IrvineWelsh I went back to a bottle of my ‘usual’ lager a couple of weeks ago & found it very underwhelming. I have, however, developed a bit of a Guinness 0% habit.
@IrvineWelsh I can't drink fizzy drinks like cola etc and there's only so much water one can take, so kombucha is a great drink for me! Should definitely be in pubs! 👍
@IrvineWelsh I go hard on the San Pellegrino. It keeps me out of trouble.
Haven't drank alcohol in id estimate 15 years by now, I can't really remember. As you say if I want a bit of a kick in the gums I have a 'bucha. It becomes a wonder after years not drinking why people are so gravitated towards the alcohol aisle in the supermarket. Holds absolutely no pull imo. 👍🏻
