When you’re an introvert, one of the worst things you can hear in class is, “break up into small groups with those around you to discuss what we’ve been learning in class.”
@IntrovertProbss as an introvert i find this kind of scenario to be reasonable to deal with. it also depends on the types of people in the small group. i'm trying to break out of categorizing myself and placing myself in a silo as a strict 'introvert' constantly and unhealthily labeling myself
@IntrovertProbss what's the name for someone who can rapidly assess how gross human behavior is, all the silly group dynamics, the predictable outcomes, and yet not be an introvert?
@IntrovertProbss It's so unproductive. These sessions are dominated by the talkers while we sit mostly mute. The idea is to get small groups to form a diversity of ideas and opinions but what you end up with is the ideas of the loudest mouths in the room. Pointless.
@IntrovertProbss When you’re an adult and hear icebreaker at the office meeting or training.
@IntrovertProbss Yes !! and when you had to speak in front of the whole class !!
@IntrovertProbss In school? They still do it at work!
@IntrovertProbss I really dread those awful icebreakers: “ Let’s go round everyone - say your name & tell us something about yourself”. No, I’m a very private person & won’t tell you anything about me until I get to know you much better. Even then I might not tell you.😱
