We'd like to open the floor to collectors, artists, and support platforms to share their thoughts on this question. (Repost Q.) This is a topic that often gets addressed in passing, assessed internally or discussed in the heat of the moment, but we believe it deserves a more thoughtful conversation. For us, understanding different perspectives helps us evaluate how we can best adjust our own approach in ways that are most beneficial to the creators we support. At the same time, we hope it can help shed some light on what opportunities may exist to create a healthier balance between all sides involved. Am I wrong? The best way to show an artist how much you value their work is to list it on secondary - collectors control the floor

We feel like this is a bit of a double edged sword. For us specifically, we intend to hold onto everything we collect. This is because we have long term plans to build a system that showcases artists, their work, and the works we've personally gathered from them along the way. At the same time, we can also see how that may cause some stagnation for the artist, as pieces that are permanently held are pieces that no longer circulate. Our approach has been to periodically continue investing in the artists we support (where we can), and trying to giving back where we aren't contributing through secondary sales. However, we also recognize that not everyone can afford to do that, and in some cases, not everyone is interested in doing so. What are your thoughts on this take? This is actually very good insight for us moving forward. Is there a middle ground between artists, collectors, and then platforms like us, that helps balance the benefits of owning the artwork with the benefits of keeping it in circulation? Very valid concern, by the way. It is incredibly powerful to see someone raise the question publicly, and we think more people on both sides of the conversation should weigh in.
