Today is #InternationalDayofPersonsWithDisability and it almost feels trite or dismissive to even acknowledge given the globe’s complicity in the Palestinian genocide—both in leaving disabled people in Gaza to die while the west’s violence by proxy disables thousands more.
@Imani_Barbarin As a disabled person, I can't help but to think how much our siblings in Gaza are suffering as well.
@Imani_Barbarin "Palestinian" isn't a race, religion, or ethnicity. You need to stop calling it a genocide.
@Imani_Barbarin At least one of the #IDPD events addressed the reality you describe. Pinned thread has more thorough Alt Text
@Imani_Barbarin @StephTaitWrites My local news did a whole two and half minute segment. COVID was mentioned zero times. 🤦♂️ youtu.be/3qm14znlHFo?si…
@Imani_Barbarin There are no words. We must free the people of Palestine 😭💔
@Imani_Barbarin man, Hamas really should've stayed home Oct 7th
@Imani_Barbarin @ShabanaMir1 I have been thinking so much about them: the children with disabilities, and with autism, and parents who will be devoted to their children and finding themselves unable to give them the care and protection that they want to give them. The care and protection that is their right.
@Imani_Barbarin @briebriejoy GOD, how much more collective punishment for the sins of our leaders? Why won't you end this or just take the good home?
