UPDATE: The NYC squatter featured in the viral video, after the rightful owner of the house was arrested, has been charged. Brian Rodriguez, who not only squatted but also rented rooms, was charged with burglary, grand larceny, and other crimes.. At least four lawmakers have filed legislation since this segment first aired to make it easier for police to remove squatters and to document how often it's happening. One bill was filed by a NYC council member and 3 senators have filed legislation as well.
@ImMeme0 Require all leases to be "Notarized". This will help cut down on the problem. Not notarized or fake notary seal, easy to verify and boom. Problem solved.
