Every bull market convinces people they’ve figured it all out. Until the bear market arrives. One moment you’re celebrating new highs. The next, you’re watching months of profits disappear. It’s a usually a reoccurring cycle. But what if your returns didn’t have to depend on whether prices were going up or down? ──•~❉᯽❉~•── That’s the idea behind Maple’s latest expansion into @RobinhoodCrypto . Maple has launched syrupUSDC and syrupUSDG - its first new syrup asset in two years - on Robinhood Chain, bringing institutional lending strategies to a platform millions already know. ──•~❉᯽❉~•── Think of syrupUSDG as a yield-bearing version of USDG; a regulated stablecoin issued by @Paxos. Instead of sitting idle, those dollars are used to fund overcollateralized loans to institutions. The interest paid on those loans is what generates returns. Even better, the loan and reserve data are designed to be verifiable onchain, so users can see where the yield comes from rather than simply taking someone’s word for it. This also powers Robinhood Earn, making it the first decentralized lending product available directly inside the @RobinhoodApp. For me, this is what real DeFi adoption looks like. Not more complexity. Just better ways for everyday users to put their dollars to work.

TVL gets all the attention in DeFi research. It’s the number that signals scale, credibility, and traction at a glance, yes, but scale doesn’t always mean activity. Almost no one asks whether the capital is actually being put to work. Pool utilization does. It shows how much of that liquidity is actively deployed versus just sitting idle. I was digging through the new @Blockworks’ analytics dashboard on @maplefinance, expecting to see another yield-driven growth story. Instead, I found something more interesting. Maple is sitting on nearly $3.9B in deposits, with $1.45B actively deployed as loans and over $2B posted as collateral. At the same time, pool utilization across its products remains above 94%, meaning most of the capital entering the ecosystem isn’t sitting idle. Yields have normalized around ~4–5% making it a preferred choice for institutions looking for sustainable yield strategies. Maple’s stats continue to highlight why institutions lean toward its infrastructure over most hype-driven alternatives. With such sustained pool utilization, a return to $4B+ AUM, and possibly a new ATH, feels increasingly within reach.

Bitcoin’s Fear & Greed Index is sitting at 9%. That’s a market worth over $2T gripped by extreme fear. Nobody seems quite sure where the market goes from here. Yet beneath the uncertainty, capital continues to move. ──•❉᯽❉•── Last week, I dug into @maplefinance $SYRUP’s on-chain data to understand how traders were behaving during this period of fear. What surprised me was that buyers remained more active than sellers despite a 17% drawdown in price. Today, I ran same query to answer a simple question: When fear takes over the market, do $SYRUP traders leave, hold, or keep buying? The answer was more interesting than I expected 👇 ──•❉᯽❉•── A week ago: • 170 unique traders • 3,547 transactions • $894.6K bought • $429K sold This week: • 336 trader appearances across 7 days • 3,404 transactions • $1.01M bought • $658K sold One thing stands out immediately: Trading activity tells the same story - more traders than sellers. Buy volume increased by over $115K, crossing the $1M mark. Sell volume also rose, suggesting more traders were active on both sides of the market. Yet buyers continued to absorb the pressure. A few observations stand out: • June 4 recorded the week’s highest activity with 62 traders and 971 transactions. • June 6 saw $158K in buy volume versus $77K in sell volume. • June 9 recorded over $50K in buys and less than $3K in sells. The recent data suggests: 1.Capital is still flowing into $SYRUP despite market fear. 2.Trading activity remains resilient notwithstanding current general market fear and greed index sitting at 9% 3.Buyers continue to show up even as volatility increases. Query goal #4 What a week! Nothing boosts productivity like structured planning and goal setting. Not just any goals, but SMART goals: • Specific • Measurable • Attainable • Relevant • Time-bound At the start of the week, I set 3 SMART goals across: Fitness, Research, and Query Writing. Safe to say I checked all boxes. For my 4th query, I analyzed onchain fees generated on Base vs Solana in February. Here’s what stood out 👇 • Solana: $18.7M+ in fees • Base: $8.3M+ in fees Solana generated over 2x the fees compared to Base. A clear signal of stronger transaction activity and network usage during that period - even in a bearish market. Another reminder that Solana remains a powerhouse in DeFi when it comes to user engagement and fee generation. And with that, it’s a wrap on this week’s goals. Worth noting: this is the first time I’ve executed a goal publicly. On days I felt low or unmotivated, knowing I was accountable to 2,700+ of you gave me the push to keep going. Great experience.
