Some top tips for IELS writing task 2’n
It’s imperative to know how the answer sheet looks like so you can determine how many words you can fit into each sheet. The minimum word count on task 1 is 150 and 250 on task 2, failure to reach the word count will limit your score to a 5.5!
Connective words: phrase/ phrases that link two clauses to make one sentence! Using these are key to achieving high band scores. Here are some examples:
Writing task 2 is marked based on 4 criteria; task response , lexical resources , cohesion and coherence and grammatical range and error. Your feedback will consist of an in-depth focus on all of these 4 sections.
