Hastings leads D3 Keene State to NCAA Sweet 16 as Acting Head Coach; Will not be considered for job next season hoopdirt.com/hastings-leads…
Here is another tidbit. Most D3 coaching positions don’t pay well for new hires. That’s why you see long term coaches in AD type positions so the school can justify more $. If schools want these coaches to have masters degrees or other advanced certifications then pay them as such. Otherwise make an exception for a coach who served his country/community AND who embodies solid values that will help lead young people the right way while ensuring an engaged alumni base.
@HoopDirt An honorary degree would take care of that
@HoopDirt From the Keene website! Have him write a paper on molding men! A+, call it a day!
@HoopDirt I don't think there there's new information here as to what qualifications most universities (and most other businesses) require in terms of education. This is commonly known and been this way. Is it "fair" to Coach Haistings? No probably not but it's the parameters going in.
@HoopDirt Wow, just wow. So much for experiential learning or the alternative educational models to drive the future.
