Jim Henson’s singing could be so soft and sweet, and I think it’s that gentleness that makes this such a beautiful song, and one that sticks with you for your whole life. I Don’t Want to Live on the Moon 🌙❤️
@HistoryMuppet Both Early Sesame Street and Mr Roger's Neighborhood (Fred Rogers) brought us an indescribable innocence through song (and music). We were all very lucky to have them.
@HistoryMuppet After studying abroad for an amazing year in college, I was hiking up to the Odeon theatre at the top of hill near Santorini and this beloved song kept playing on a loop in my head. I’d had my fun, it was truly time to go home. ❤️
@HistoryMuppet Gosh he’s missed… what the world needs now is more of simple good things like this….
@HistoryMuppet this was my daughter’s favorite lullaby, we played the CD every night, by chance I found the accompanying book, we still have it more than 20yrs after its release
@HistoryMuppet When I first saw Jim Henson for the first time (back when he hosted THE JIM HENSON HOUR), I was like "He sounds like Ernie!" Yeah, there's a bit of Kermit in his actual voice, but his 'Ernie' tone was also heavy in there.
@HistoryMuppet I remember one time, ernie sanged with Aaron Neville singing this song as a kid. Nonetheless, this song hits the heart of entertainment! ❤️🌘
@HistoryMuppet Easily one of the best songs ever produced by the Sesame Street crew. RIP Jim & Joe!
@HistoryMuppet I love this song. I cried listening to it after Jim passed away. 🥹😢
