Honest question. Sometimes we get asked about making genuine leather jackets. We know practically the advantages of it but aren’t we assuming all fabrics are synthetic (and replicated) in order to supply the entire Federation? Wouldn’t leather actually be less futuristic? 🐄

@HeroWithinInc Aren't any of the characters across the larger Star Trek universe known for their collection of "retro" objects? Picard? Wouldn't he wear leather (if only on the Bridge)?
@HeroWithinInc Leather can still be replicated, though. The molecular pattern for organic hide could be made in the same way as organic food is in the show.
@HeroWithinInc Could be a replicated leather or some desire for Vintage and authenticity. Both takes fit themes for Star Trek.
