Iowa State Sen. Trone Garriott (D), on a bill allowing teachers to carry guns on school grounds, says the legislation requires no demonstration of proficiency to carry a firearm. “This is terrifying … It leaves our schools with these minimally trained volunteers.”
@HeartlandSignal Iowa used to be a state known for using good sense. I want to know what happened?
@HeartlandSignal If the general public can carry with no training, what’s the problem? Train all or none.
@HeartlandSignal @CBoTheEggman Iowa doesn’t care about students. They care only about gun owners.
@HeartlandSignal Michelle Wolfe is for arming school teachers since they can sell the guns to pay for supplies.
@HeartlandSignal The teacher’s classroom is her domicile while at school. She is allowed to defend herself in her domicile. She is required to be there..not required to be a sitting duck.
@HeartlandSignal Minimally trained, trigger-happy shop teachers and coaches. *shudder*
@HeartlandSignal Sadly also it increases the number of weapons in schools which means people with bad intent can assault the teacher and get access to the weapon. 🤦🤦🤦
@HeartlandSignal I want to ask all the Iowa farmers who support this if they’d let someone with no crop knowledge or training take care of their fields and why they would let a teacher with no gun knowledge or training take care of their kids.
