Hi everyone, I’m afraid I bear some sad news. Most of you will know Dave has been fighting cancer for the past couple of years. Last night, on 28th February 2024, with Lili, Dave’s wife, his family, close friend David and myself by his side, he passed away peacefully at home. All who knew Dave are devastated at his passing. His beloved wife brought him such happiness as did her children, Iza and Sergiu who Dave loved like his own. Personally, I am not sure I can put into words on how I feel at the moment. My best friend is on a journey that for now, I can’t follow. I will miss him every day and the bond and friendship we shared over half a lifetime. I wish you god’s speed brother; you are and will remain a beacon in this world. See you on the other side. Love ya. I know Dave and his family would want me to thank all of you who sent messages of support in recent times. It meant the world to him, his family and all The Hairy Bikers team. I am sending you all much love and gratitude for those simple acts of kindness, generosity and spirit. We are eternally grateful for them. May I ask you all for one further kindness and allow Lili, his wife, his family, close friends and I some time and some peace to process our huge loss. I am sure I will see you all soon. Love Si x
@HairyBikers @LadySadie66 It makes me genuinely sad 😔
@HairyBikers What a gentleman and a kind hearted man . Rest in peace my friend 😢💕🙏🏼
@HairyBikers @ArgyllSeaGlass Beloved bikers. Si. I am so very sorry. Sending warmest love to you all. And may Dave and My Dad, who just passed away also, be tipping a celestial pint and eating some awesome grub in the hereafter xxxx
@HairyBikers Ah that’s so sad, condolences to Dave’s family and friends. I shall be stepping out from tomorrow for the month of March 10k steps a day for @CR_UK #cancerresearchuk
Beautiful words Si, Dave was a true gentleman, and master of his craft and a real human being, the pair of you made millions of normal folk laugh, cry, swear, and shout, but overall you were just 2 normal blokes who shared your passion and love of food, quality ingredients and great suppliers with everyone. Dave, bless him will be missed, genuinely missed, he touched everybody’s heart in his own unique way and the world will seem a little bit less fun without him. My deepest condolences to you Si and Dave’s family, my only hope is you carry on, Dave will be with us all in spirit and hopefully the silly moustache will become your tribute to him. Wishing you the best fella 😉👍🏻
@HairyBikers Everyone at Specsavers is sad to hear of the passing of our dear friend, Dave, who helped to raise awareness of glaucoma for a number of years. We know he'll be missed by many and our thoughts are with his family and friends 💚
@HairyBikers I am so sorry for your loss, may his memory be a blessing to you and his family.
@HairyBikers Magnificent words of a true friend at this awful time. Love to his family and friends
