I think I coined a new term… The Cortisol Cowboy. 🤠 The person who optimizes everything… Except the things that are hardest to measure. They lift. They hit their protein. They take the supplements. They cold plunge. They wear the tracker. But they’re sleeping 5-6 hours, running on caffeine, constantly stressed, under-recovering, and wondering why they feel stuck. Chronically elevated cortisol doesn’t mean you’re “unhealthy,” but over time it may contribute to reduced insulin sensitivity, poorer recovery, increased cravings, sleep disruption, higher blood pressure, and make body composition goals harder to achieve. The best biohack might not be another supplement. It might be protecting your sleep, managing stress, eating enough to recover, and giving your body time to adapt.

I’ve been thinking about something… We spend a lot of time comparing prices and posting COAs in this industry. But a COA is only one piece of the story. I’d want to know things like… How big was the batch? How many vials were actually tested? What tests were run? Can I verify the results myself? Unpopular opinion: Testing labs continuing to accept unlimited orders when turnaround times have doubled or tripled is the lab equivalent of peptide companies pre-selling products before testing is complete. Cap daily orders. Pause new submissions. Update your posted turnaround times. Add capacity. Create a waitlist. Plenty of options. What isn’t acceptable is continuing to take everyone’s money based on turnaround times you already know you can’t meet. Demand exceeding capacity is a good problem to have. Hiding it from your customers is not.

Every added feature in this industry eventually gets turned into a marketing claim. More testing. More technology. More verification. More complexity. As a company grows, one of the hardest things is deciding which innovations actually improve the product and which ones simply give you something new to advertise. I’m increasingly convinced that the answer is usually simpler than we make it: invest in the things that address the biggest real-world risks, be transparent about what they do and don’t prove, and don’t confuse complexity with quality.

The peptide industry gets criticized for everything. Meanwhile, people are swallowing powders, capsules, and supplements every day with no idea what contaminants may be present. If consumers demanded the same level of testing and transparency from the supplement industry that they increasingly demand from peptide vendors, a lot of companies would have some explaining to do.
