@Captain_Deltic @Oberon48 @Heidi_Labour Except for the minority that love it and really value it, for the majority in society the railway is fairly boring utility like water pipes or electricity cables. A tough sell to make people love it, but a much more realistic vision to ask folk to think it boringly reliable

@rupwalker Yes. Dozens of miles. In contrast, China has built THOUSANDS of miles of high-speed conventional rail. Because that works cost effectively. Forget maglev and build HS2 properly

@SteveWhiteRail Why not take on the Class 350/2s that are in store, to boost your air conditioned stock by next summer? They can be equipped to run on 3rd Rail. Or better still swap with the 350/1s that are latest equipped?
