Purdue coach Matt Painter with a bomb here at his NCAA title game news conference: “Name, image, and likeness wasn’t put into place so the schools with the most money could get the best players. But if you want to be honest, that was happening before.” 🤯
@GreggDoyelStar This isn't a 🤯 revelation, everybodys always known for years. So stop you're I'm shocked crap.
@GreggDoyelStar And has been happening at Alabama in football way back to when the Bear was coach, NIL just made in legal.
@GreggDoyelStar NIL is out of hand. It went from paying athletes for local car dealer commercials and getting paid for their jersey sales ... to getting 7 figures a year. What a mess.
@GreggDoyelStar Well duh. Unless people have been living under a rock. Thanks for the enlightenment, Matt 😂
@GreggDoyelStar I disagree. Only a few programs chose to cheat - the blue bloods. The blue bloods were created from cheated, it was actually smart of them. The richest out of those got their choice of player but they all got their choice.
@GreggDoyelStar Remember Ariz, Kansas, USC and Auburn getting caught in payment schemes and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAPPENED to them?
@GreggDoyelStar that’s not a revelation for those that are realistic about college athletics, including one’s own program. Boosters have been paying kids for generations. Some choose to be naive. Nil just puts it in a formalized way.
@GreggDoyelStar Same way like schools pay big money to get the “best” coaches? How about we start limiting coaches salary based on years with a pay scale for how long the coach has been coaching then any coach can choose any school not just the big schools with most money.
