The first land run in our state was in 1889— it opened the unassigned lands to pioneers and settlers who built the foundation of Oklahoma. During ‘89ers Week, we celebrate that awesome history.
@GovStitt The indigenous peoples of the Southern Plains were the first to build the foundation of Oklahoma, followed by the governments of forcibly relocated tribes. The “pioneers and settlers” were late arrivals to the state. Also, the apostrophe in ’89ers Week faces the other direction.
