AI startup on a mission to turn emails, PDFs, and handwritten orders into clean ERP data for industrial distributors.ordermatic.co Cleveland, OHJoined March 2026
Last week, one of our founders, David, attended Founders of The Land. A rooftop social with other founders, operators, and investors from across Northeast Ohio. No panels, no sales pitches, just Cleveland builders doing what Cleveland builders do.

@LionessAtEase Same thing here in the US. The companies that win aren't replacing relationships — they're stripping out the busywork around them. In distribution, that's order entry. Automate the keying, and your best reps are back with customers instead of stuck at a keyboard.
@smitviramgama2@TTrimoreau Seriously impressive, three months is fast. The part we always see fight back isn't the workflow logic, it's the messy inbound: customer POs as PDFs, email, the odd photo of a handwritten sheet. How's that side been treating you so far?
@polsia Automating PO creation is only half the loop. On the other end, there's a distributor still keying that same order into their ERP by hand. The loop only closes when both ends are automated.
@BenedictDayas The distribution layer being the real moat resonates. In industrial distribution, the edge isn't the software either; it's who can absorb messy inbound orders (faxes, PDFs, email) without an army of data-entry staff. Own that chokepoint, and you own the relationship.
@erickimberling The spreadsheet is where the ERP quietly gave up. The version we see most in distribution is order entry: a sheet built to catch what the ERP can't. Fast to build, impossible to kill, and invisible to everyone until it breaks.
Ask a distributor what one order error costs and you'll get a shrug. It's never one number. It's the return, the reship, the phone call, and the customer who starts pricing your competitor. Manual order entry hides all of it. Click the link in the comments to read more.
@pavan_redian Totally agree. The real win is getting your best people back to the work that actually needs them. In industrial distribution that boring work is order entry: reading a PO and keying it into the ERP, over and over.
@Support_ForgeMA Totally agree, and here's the sharpest version of it: for a lot of industrial distributors the single highest-frequency task is order entry. Dozens to hundreds of POs a day. Automate that and you're saving time every single day.
@intercorpusa This is great to see. Congrats to Milfast Industrial Supply on the recognition, and to Intercorp for shouting out your own. Fastener distributors run some of the hardest-working operations around, and it's good to see the community celebrate them.
@TheAIEdgethd 100%. The AI reading incoming POs example is exactly it. Nobody's making a viral demo out of order entry, but that's precisely where the money is in industrial distribution.
@ESI_ERP Yep. The ERP line item is the part everyone sees. The real drain lives upstream, in the hours spent keying orders by hand, tracking down missing details, and catching mistakes before any of it reaches the system.
@TransportTopics Rings true in distribution too. More orders through a manual process just means more errors, more rework, and margins that disappear before you notice. Volume isn't growth if your ops can't scale with it. Ordermatic fixes that.
@SupplyChainD Exactly this. For industrial distributors, resilience can't stop at strategy. If your order intake process buckles under a volume spike or when one person is out, that's not a process gap, it's a risk. The cracks show up before the disruption even peaks.
@FreightWaves Exactly this — and it's hitting industrial distribution just as hard. The order intake side is still largely manual: re-keying faxes, emails, and phone orders into the ERP one by one. Same pattern, different department.
@LisaAndersonLMA So true, Lisa. Distribution and warehousing are quietly powering entire communities — local jobs, tax revenue, the supply chain keeping neighborhood businesses stocked. These operations are the backbone of local economies and rarely get the credit they deserve.
@ILMagazine Totally agree. And honestly, delivery speed doesn't even matter if the order was entered wrong in the first place. Wrong item, wrong quantity, wrong PO — that's where the customer experience actually breaks. Speed just gets you to the problem faster.
@erickimberling This hits close to home in industrial distribution. So much 'tribal knowledge' lives in order intake — who calls, who faxes, who has their own PO format. Works great until that person retires. That's exactly where automation earns its keep.
@ISAssoc In industrial distribution, this gap shows up at order entry. Companies moving forward are automating intake — fax, email, PDF — straight into the ERP. The ones still waiting? Stuck on manual entry.
