Those who believe that a person's education ends with their degree say more about themselves than they do about other people. I don't claim to be an expert, but I am capable of learning about subjects I didn't study at university. So should we all be.

@GeorgeMonbiot I can’t wait to see you begin to learn about biogenic carbon cycle, role of ruminants in ecology and holistic grazing.
@GeorgeMonbiot Agreed. Your articles are informative & hit the point on each occasion. Keep going, we need your voice out there, echoing the thoughts of many. It is well known that when folk don’t have the facts to argue, they start attacking the person - take comfort in this.
@GeorgeMonbiot You have the transferable research skills required for the science, the values required to apply it sensitively, and the command of language to make it interesting, compelling, and impactful. Jenny's claims require a citation, examples, or rationale.
This is indeed fair. I’ve worked in my field for two decades and absolutely nobody at any organisational level gives an S what I studied at university, or what grades I got at school. I’m there, and there’s work to do, that’s all. Either your argument stands or it doesn’t, and a person that answers your argument by saying you’re unqualified is just not answering your argument.
@GeorgeMonbiot Many of us have life long learning objectives
@GeorgeMonbiot Evening George a very bizarre take there from Jenny,I can't see how wanting to be greener is "dangerous" but that aside, I'll butcher a famous quote, along the lines of "a man who see's the world the same after 20 years, has wasted 20 years of his life" you grow and learn over time
@GeorgeMonbiot What an odd critique. Knowing @GeorgeMonbiot has a degree in zoology & therefore understands science & the nature of evidence, can make sense of data, & form reasoned arguments should enhance our trust in his opinions, esp on related topics.
