Why don't they leave or speak out? In many cases Because they're indoctrinated young and trapped in the organisation and don't have transferable skills to get a similar wage outside policing. Not only are they financially tied in, they're socially tied in due to shift patterns, their friends are all police, they marry police in some cases...... their who life becomes police. The fear of job/career loss has muzzled police officers and made them feel unable to push back, its effected decision making especially if "racism" is mentioned.
