Pirelli expects a one-stop Singapore GP. So the interesting question may not be HOW MANY times drivers stop. It'll be WHEN. Pit early and secure fresh tyres? Or extend the stint, protect track position and keep open the possibility of a cheaper stop under a Safety Car?

Watch more than who leads out of Turn 1 today. Singapore offers limited overtaking opportunities, making track position extremely valuable. Verstappen vs Leclerc at the start could determine much more than who leads Lap 1. It could decide who controls the opening stint.

Tomorrow's FP1 isn't “just practice”. It's Singapore's ONLY practice session. When those 60 minutes finish, teams have to prepare for Sprint Qualifying. Watch which cars look comfortable immediately. On a Sprint weekend, there's much less time to fix a bad starting setup.

Singapore tyre compounds: 🔴 Soft — C5 🟡 Medium — C4 ⚪ Hard — C3 They're the three softest compounds in Pirelli's 2026 range. Pirelli expects the Medium and Hard to remain the main race tyres — but thinks the Soft could play a bigger role this year.

@HillF1 This is the balance to get right. The technology is part of what makes F1 fascinating, but the driver still needs to feel like the difference-maker. Energy management is a good eg — it adds another skill, but drivers don't want to spend too much of a lap following instructions

F1 term: TRACK EVOLUTION As cars complete laps, rubber builds up on the racing line and grip generally improves. Singapore is expected to have significant track evolution this weekend. So Friday’s circuit can change considerably between the start of FP1 and Sprint Qualifying.

Singapore is a Sprint weekend. That means teams get just ONE practice session before Sprint Qualifying. 60 minutes to understand the tyres, refine the setup and give the driver confidence around a street circuit. Getting FP1 wrong could make the entire weekend harder.

One question heading into Singapore: Was Malaysia the beginning of a genuine Red Bull turnaround? Verstappen took Red Bull’s first win of 2026 at Sepang. Now we get to see whether that pace carries over to a very different circuit in Singapore.
