'Sickness disability benefit is the second BIGGEST use of our taxes, just behind the NHS' Rishi Sunak has announced that GPs will no longer be able to give out sick notes, and says benefits will be stopped for those who can work, if they don't get a job within 12 months.
Sunak: ‘There’s a risk of over-medicalising the everyday challenges and worries of life’ PM pledges sick note crackdown, as over half of people now being put on sick leave have 'mental health' issues. @forster_k | @MartinDaubney
@GBNEWS Anyone on a decent salary will not be going on long term sickness for £109.70 a week if not absolutely necessary.People who are exploiting the system will come off the sick and go back on Universal Credit.
@GBNEWS If his aim was to convince us Tories are no different to Labour and both are basically crooks playing the parts of people who actually care about the country then they've succeeded.
@GBNEWS Let’s take a look at who is doing the overall scrounging shall we. What is he doing about this lot??
@GBNEWS It's very easy to get signed off. Anxiety is part of life, get on with it
@GBNEWS Absolutely about time, but it should be 6 months then not another penny if your able bodied
@GBNEWS @MartinDaubney Not sure what I think here. I know of ppl claiming disability yet able to carry very heavy gym equipment or ride their Harley daily. Yet I know ppl in very bad MH situations hardly holding their lives together yet don't claim anything because they can't. 🤔
@GBNEWS Pensions are the biggest benefit. I find it astounding that the PM believes GPs can't ascertain & diagnose when people are ill.
