My car, while correctly parked, was hit by an ambulance of the West Mid Ambulance Service. All parties have admitted I was faultless. The car is still roadworthy, but Churchill have tried telling me It's uneconomical to repair. Who is meant to be paying for the repairs -
Churchill or the West Mids Insurers, QBE Insurance? Exactly who is Churchill meant to be representing; me or QBE? If I have to accept some derisory scrap value, I won't be able to replace my car - that could place my Sat/Sun job at risk. Insurers - bunch f*cking of parasites.
@Fruich There's nothing you can do except possibly get an alternative valuation of the car before the damage was done. Personally, if the car is roadworthy and would pass the MOT, I'd take whatever is on offer (not scrappage) and keep driving it.
@Fruich You need to see this. You are not alone. theguardian.com/money/2024/mar…
@Fruich If they're writing it off they need to pay you what you insured it for, I believe. blog.moneysavingexpert.com/2014/03/dig-yo…
@Fruich If the insurers have declared that repair is uneconomic, then your vehicle is a 'write-off'. You are entitled to receive the insured value of your vehicle. As the ambulance service caused the damage, you will be paid by your insurer, and they will claim from WMA's insurers.
@Fruich Surely the local authority’s insurer?
