A long-term stay pays dividends and revives Awer Mabil's international career 🇪🇸🇦🇺
Ever since leaving FC Midtjylland in the Danish top flight, Australia international Awer Mabil has struggled to call a new club home. His post FC Midtjylland life has seen him play in Portugal, Türkiye, Spain, Czechia and Switzerland, but amongst those countries and leagues, he struggled for consistent minutes with small spells.
Ever since joining @LaLiga2 outfit @CDCastellon in February 2025, Mabil's career and confidence has reignited and he has played a significant role in Castellon's relegation battle last season and their unique promotion battle this season ⚫️⚪️
Apart from FC Midtjylland and Adelaide United, Mabil has featured the most in CD Castellon colours and could be in the Spanish top flight next season as Castellon battle for promotion through the playoffs.
It was almost two years since Mabil last received a call up to represent the Socceroos again, and thanks to his switch at the east coast of Spain, his name now appears in the Socceroos lineup to take on the world.
