#OTD In 1991, we lost David Lean. His immortal contribution to cinema will always be Lawrence Of Arabia, his magnificent epic to end all epics. But I also admire the quieter Lean of Brief Encounter, or the Lean who could handles Dickens so beautifully in Oliver Twist.
@Freelineorlando @OldCarLongRoad @PedroPerico75 @FarmRoad902 @TimothyJamesCat @JaneNightshade @roger_bakes @mecalnan @ihateclaims @performativeUtt @AMclenon Brief Encounter and This Happy Breed are 2 of my all time favorites. Don’t care anything about Lawrence.
@lolarites @OldCarLongRoad @PedroPerico75 @FarmRoad902 @TimothyJamesCat @JaneNightshade @roger_bakes @mecalnan @ihateclaims @performativeUtt @AMclenon No Lawrence!!?? Cinema blasphemy! 😁
@Freelineorlando @OldCarLongRoad @PedroPerico75 @FarmRoad902 @TimothyJamesCat @JaneNightshade @roger_bakes @mecalnan @ihateclaims @performativeUtt @AMclenon I know, I know. I hate epics. I like the ones where there is a camera stuck in a window of their house and watches their lives.
@lolarites @OldCarLongRoad @PedroPerico75 @FarmRoad902 @TimothyJamesCat @JaneNightshade @roger_bakes @mecalnan @ihateclaims @performativeUtt @AMclenon Lola your view is positively… epic! 😝 😆 But I understand, sometimes you need to be in the mood for them 4 hour thingies
@Freelineorlando @OldCarLongRoad @PedroPerico75 @FarmRoad902 @TimothyJamesCat @JaneNightshade @roger_bakes @mecalnan @ihateclaims @performativeUtt @AMclenon Thank you Michael. I know you understand. I appreciate good cinematography, but I prefer a pool hall or a press room vs a huge scope. The JW Howe look. That said I do love Kurosawa’s camera work. Dreams is my favorite of that school.
