The great British justice system. You do the crime you do the time is the old saying. Ooops but then there ipp sentence. Lock them up throw away the key. @MoJGovUK just sit back and watch the view. And it ain't pretty. It's cruel, inhumane, soul destroying.

Over 2000 ipp still inside. MOJ has stated that this group of prisoners will need psychology report cos of yrs over tariff. Why the hell are these prisoners going 2 parole & all recommending release & parole adjourne 4 upto a yr for psychology report. FAILED

There have been so many suicides where this has seemed the only option. IPP prisoners are also experiencing severe mental health issues. Something has to be done
@LloydSewing @KateAllenAI @AmnestyUK I’m seeking support for my brother who is being held in prison under the abolished IPP prison sentence. These sentences were deemed inhumane in 2012 and on this basis are no longer given out but those that had them have been left languishing in jail.

There have been campaigns but no one in government will commit to addressing these forgotten prisoners. Shirley Debono has been campaigning tirelessly for end to the IPP and for Amnesty to get involved
@LloydSewing @KateAllenAI @AmnestyUK So many of them received these sentences for minor crimes and that was not the purpose of the IPP they were intended for repeat dangerous criminals. My brother was sentenced in 2006 to an 11 year IPP and remains still in prison to this day despite his tariff ending in 2012.
