@HananyaNaftali The biblical Israel and the modern Israel are two different things. The former gave us Christ the Messiah, which changed history. Tragically, the Judaism of the modern state rejects the Christ of Christianity.

In fact the first Jewish Christians met in the temple courts and houses. Synagogues in various places were used later by Paul, who was of course thoroughly schooled in the synagogue culture. "Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." Acts 2:46-47

If you read Josephus' book The War of of the Jews, you would understand that Israel went through a great time of trouble circa AD66-70. This was the end of the old covenant age (Hebrews 1:1-3). Up to a million people are said to have died by the sword and famine during that time. The temple was desecrated and supernatural signs and wonders were seen.

If you read Josephus' The Jewish War, you would understand that Luke 19 was literally fulfilled circa AD66-70. "And they will not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not know the time of your visitation." That is clearly referring to Israel's rejection of Messiah Jesus.
