Not a terrible result to be honest. De Minaur is top five in the race and Rafa still managed to make the first set very competitive. I’m not writing him off yet. I still have hope that he will do something special this clay season.

@FredWMeyer_ For the life of me, I have no idea why Rafa Nadal is still playing. He’s going out with a whimper rather than a bang, And that all some of us are going to remember. Not the wonderful glory days… Not Wimbolton 2008…
@FredWMeyer_ De Minaur lost a few days ago to Djokovic playing very badly, Nadal almost needed a crutch. but he managed to serve, that's important haha.
@FredWMeyer_ We didn't lose to De Minaur in one of our favorite tournaments at 36 😌🤣
@FredWMeyer_ Nadal is done because he can't run like he did in the past. Even he knows it but for the sake of his previous success on clay and the Olympic Games to be played also on clay, he wants to take part in one final FO & OG. DeMinaur was gracious and actually left Nadal win some games.
@FredWMeyer_ What I’d expect without any game play, but hopefully he can get some more games under his belt
@FredWMeyer_ This is Rafa’s plan and I like it. If Rafa really wanted to win he could have. I think he got what he wanted from this tournament, a couple of games practice without straining too much, he will be ready for Roland Garros
