On this day April 25th 1916,106 years ago, Ireland became the first nation in the world to be declared by radio when rebels broadcast communiqués written by Pearse Connolly & Plunkett. They were heard on board HMS Adventure, by a Welsh amateur & by the journalist Sidney Cave.
