Speaker Johnson must be proud to have blocked a bill with border security, only to now vote for standalone aid packages. Maybe a USA fella can correct me, a vote 3 months ago would have been much better for America?
@FlyingDutchPall Trump actually blocked the border bill.
@FlyingDutchPall Much better for all however, he did not have the votes. The Republicans want aid to Israel and not to Ukraine and the Democrats want aid to Ukraine and some no aid to Israel. By splitting the two, now he may be able to get this done.
@FlyingDutchPall I think it would’ve been better for everyone if he had passed the full package months ago. Our US border guard still doesn’t have the funding or equipment they need and we all know the delays have, and still will, cause many, many deaths in Ukraine. It was all so avoidable.
@FlyingDutchPall Democratic party didn't want to vote for any separate bill. Only all together. Right now, something changes in this party.
@FlyingDutchPall There was no border security. It allowed for 5000 illegals per week which is the same as an open border
@FlyingDutchPall Wasn't perfect, but it was a start.
@FlyingDutchPall He could have separated aid from the border. But tieing them together tied the whole thing up - his political goal. Now they were ready to pass the whole security bill. No, separate it... stalls it all the more. He can't afford to not pass it and get the political blame.
