If a parent asks how THEY can help their child succeed in school, please remind them about the BASICS: •Proper sleep & nutrition 🛌 •Challenge them…allow them to fail and learn from it •Teach them to be RESPECTFUL •Have kids read something that interests them for 30 min/day 📖 •Play. Helps kids problem solve, work with others and how to SHARE
@FixingEducation Request to include math basics too! Reading and math basics! (at the level of the student)
@FixingEducation Totally agree! 😄 Reminds me of when we thought staying up all night before a test was a BRILLIANT idea. 📚💤 Good times, good advice!
@FixingEducation Let them be bored!Kids need to learn to use their imaginations and creativity to keep themselves busy. Not every moment needs to be entertaining and structured.
@FixingEducation How can we encourage parents to ket kids fail and learn from it when our districts won't do the same? One of the biggest problems in education today, imo, along with lack of actual consequences.
@FixingEducation Spend quality time w/them. Kids who feel loved/supported generally do well. Don’t have “data” but from the conferences I’ve been in, kids who feel a strong/healthy connection to their families always are well adjusted, liked/respected by their peers/teachers & do well in school.
@FixingEducation My county reported that 40% of women get NO pre-natal care...so, if the parents aren't taking care of the child in the womb, I doubt they are doing much getting it ready to learn...but teachers are just supposed to wave a magic wand and get them to grade level.
