Much of life is performative. Dressing a certain way, talking a certain way, respecting norms. It’s all about making people feel comfortable around you, to open space where human beings can interact and develop themselves in non-superficial ways. Not stinking is part of it.

@FischerKing64 That’s not going to help with already low reproduction numbers
@FischerKing64 Smell and/or bad breath is a major first-impression wrecker
@FischerKing64 Steve Jobs was the notable exception to this rule.
@FischerKing64 If you stink that quickly something is wrong. I've been on the low-shower life (relative to the daily masses) for years and I do stink sometimes, but it usually takes several days and exercise.
@FischerKing64 If you ever happen to take a train from north Austria to Switzerland, all I can say is pray whoever they stick you in that cabin with showered that day.
@FischerKing64 That is a bit like defending blood letting. Daily showers have long been sold as necessary way to stay healthy. Meanwhile, if stinking is an issue there are a number of alternatives starting with deodorant. And that isn’t even relevant if you are working from home :)
@FischerKing64 I bet @WHOOP could demonstrate improved sleep after a shower
@FischerKing64 It's not performative. In the Middle Ages life expectancy was 25 years, mainly bcse of infectious diseases which we mostly eliminated thanks to modern standards of hygiene/sanitation, which obviously include taking frequent baths.
