You listen to western leaders talk about the situation in Ukraine, sending more troops and weapons, and all the rhetoric can be summed up in 3 words - sunk cost fallacy.
@FischerKing64 Ironically, thanks to this Ukraine's ultimate defeat will only be all the more greater, and so will be NATO's vulnerability once the war is over. As the inevitable is delayed, Ukraine only losses more and more manpower & equipment, allowing Russia to annex even more territory
@FischerKing64 They’re going to win that Vietnam War if it’s the last thing they do.
@FischerKing64 You can still explain it as: strategic buffering (geopolitical & economical) + demonstration of commitment (their reputation is at stake here)
@FischerKing64 Unfortunately, Everybody has sunk cost here as Putin desire more land than he can conquer and Ukraine wants all the land back. Both are wrong on this one.
@FischerKing64 Yes....though I think a big part of it is that they're also defending their egos
@FischerKing64 Is that just a different term for the gamblers fallacy?
@FischerKing64 Two hundred billion to slow the spread.
