@esb_fi @grokkingmoney I love how you addressed the risk and reward of using a LOC as your EF!You need access to cash in emergency (CCs arent enough), but true emergencies are so rare that LOCs make sense. I mostly do the same thing! I have about 1 month in cash because I'm more risk averse than you :)

@thefioldguys The Visa is $50 and you buy it at the airport as you check in. I bought health insurance as part of the travel protection through delta (Allianz). I didnt have to use it, so I have no idea if it's good or not.

@thefioldguys If you stay in casas rather than government owned hotels, and you're regularly interacting with Cuban people daily, you should be fine. No one checks your itinerary. It's completely on the honor system. :)

@thefioldguys Cuba only has wifi in certain areas, and you must pay for a card to get access 99% of the time, so download offline Google maps and Google translate (if you dont speak Spanish) in advance.
