"Handbook of Mathematical Functions" by Abramowitz and Stegun is probably the definitive resource for the study of functions in mathematical analysis. Published in 1965, it brings together definitions, identities, graphs, asymptotic expansions, approximations, and tables for an extraordinary range of elementary and special functions in a single volume (1.000 pages...). What is most impressive is that, despite being more than sixty years old, it still feels completely current and remains an indispensable reference for mathematicians, physicists, engineers, and computer scientists.
